what this quote is trying to say is that you need to have the courage to face what you have cause or have the courage to face the consequence of your actions. you need to be able to face the truth for your self you cant expect that someone will come falling and say to you that he will face the truth for you, when that person isn't the one who caused the actions.
For Example: You lie and steal you parents money from the bag and you let your sister/brother take the blame for your dum actions.
